Chiquimula

Chiquimula is a city in Guatemala. It serves both as the capital of the department of Chiquimula and as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of the same name. It is some 174 km from Guatemala City. It is said that the parents of Zacapanecos are in fact the Chiquimultecos. A municipality of Totonicapán is called Santa María Chiquimula. Chiquimula is beautiful and people walk everywhere because there are little shops everywhere. Family is very important to them. On the 24th of December they get together with their family and have a dinner and exchange gifts at exactly 12:00 am. They dance, party and light a lot of fireworks. If they are Catholic, they do what they call 'Posadas' on the 31st of December then party all through the 1st of January. Area Code:
