Acheng

Acheng, (Chinese: 阿城; pinyin: Āchéng; also spelled Ashihe, Ashehe, or, until 1909, Ashihho[1]; Manchu: Alchuka) is a small city and an administrative county-level district of Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China. The city, located at 45°32′N 126°59′E at an elevation of 140 m (462 ft) with a population of 234,057 (est. 1999), is 29 km southeast of the city of Harbin, 190 km north of Jilin, and around 50 km south of the Songhua River; it lies within the basin of the A-shih River[1]. Its administrative jurisdiction (shìqū or "urban area") covers an area of 2,680 km² and includes over eleven towns, five rural areas, 126 villages, and five subdistricts, with a total population of over 650,000.
