PacovPacov is a town in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic with a population of approximately 5,000. It lays directly on the 15th meridian. In the city a lock is situated (formely castle built in 12th century and rebuilt to lock in 16. century). On the beginning of 18th cent it was rebuilt to monastery. During the goverment of Joseph II the monastery was canceled and again it was a lock. In 19th cent. part of the lock was rebuilt to flat for teachers and there was born famous czech poet Antonín Sova (1864-1928), who has now in Pacov museum. During Communist era the lock was used like casern and was very demaged, now it is beeing repaired. In Pacov is also a church which was built in 1719
In 1904, the idea of establishing the International Motorcycle Federation (FIM) arose in Pacov and the historical racecourse from 1906 has been used till the present days. Veteran Rallye takes place from 1906 on Pacov's motocyclist racecourse.
