Westville

The town of Westville is one of five towns comprising the major population centres of Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Canada; the other four being the towns of Pictou, New Glasgow, Trenton and Stellarton. Westville, along with neighbouring Stellarton, was once home to a thriving coal mining industry, however the last underground mines closed in the 1970s. Open-pit mining was carried out in the community through the 1980s. Canada Day finds the largest celebration in Atlantic Canada right here in Westville.
