CairoCairo is a city in Grady County, Georgia, United States. The city's name is pronounced differently from Cairo, Egypt: like "K-row", kā·rō, or IPA /ˈkeɪɹoʊ/ (listen). Although Cairo is nicknamed the "Syrup City" it has no relationship with the popular Karo brand of corn syrup, which is pronounced the same way. But was so named due to the cane syrup that was produced from the early 1900's through the late 1990's.
