Linhares

Linhares is the name of a municipality in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. One hundred and thirty-five km north of the state capital, it is the largest municipality by area at 4,407.4 km², and has a population of more than 124,000 people (1995, IBGE). The municipality is named in honor of D. Rodrigo de Souza Coutinho, Count of Linhares, who was a minister in the Brazilian government in the 1800s and 1810s. Area code:XXX
