Nova IguacuNova Iguaçu is a city in southeast Brazil in Rio de Janeiro. It lies northwest from the city of Rio de Janeiro, on the outskirts limits of the metropolitan area. The city hosts a significant number of low-class immigrants from Northeastern Brazil. Current mayor is former students leader Lindbergh Farias, of Workers' Party.
Its population was 830,902 (2005) and its area is 523.89 km².
