Nizamabad

Nizamabad, city in southern India, in northwestern Andhra Pradesh state. Nizamabad is in an agricultural area that produces sugarcane and rice. A major rail line and a national highway serve the city. The nearest airport is in Hyderabad, about 150 km (about 90 mi) southeast. Points of interest in Nizamabad include a college and the Hindu Saraswati Devi temple. The fort of Indor, constructed by Jains in the 10th century, lies southwest of the city.Recently Telangana University was established at Nizamabad, which serves three district of Adilabad, Medak and Nizamabad.
