Ongole

Ongole, is a town and a municipality in Prakasam district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is the administrative headquarters of Prakasam District. Ongole is famous for its Ongole breed of oxen which are considered virile and of superior stock. They are one of the major Zebu cattle breeds of the world. The commerce of Ongole was largely started by agricultural families within Prakasam district. Ongole is one of the major centres for tobacco trading in Andhra Pradesh. Area Code: 8592
