Madhya PradeshMadhya Pradesh, often called the Heart of India, is a state in central India. Its capital is Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh was originally the largest state in India until November 1, 2000 when the state of Chhattisgarh was carved out. It borders the states Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan. Largest City is Indore. The major industries in the city are electrical goods, cotton, chemicals and Jewellery. The Capital, Bhopal is also known for its very famous zardosi work, which is a kind of embroidery done on bridal dresses, sherwani's, and purses. Another famous handicraft of Bhopal is 'Batua', a small string purse, usually used with Indian traditional dresses.
